Start with the question, not the procedure
The best first step is not choosing a procedure but examining the question behind it. A thoughtful surgeon will spend the opening minutes of a consultation understanding what you actually notice in the mirror and why now — because the right answer is sometimes a smaller intervention than you imagined, and occasionally none at all. Be wary of any practice that reaches for the operating room before it has understood the concern.
Aesthetic surgery is elective, which means the timing and the terms are entirely yours. That freedom is a gift: it lets you take the decision slowly, gather more than one opinion, and proceed only when the plan is genuinely your own rather than one you were talked into.
